Harvey still looks like a hurricane by radar maps moving

Even though the winds are slower than a hurricane it is acting like a hurricane more than just a storm. It is spinning counterclockwise with is epicenter near Victoria Texas with most rainfall between Houston, Austin and Galveston but now Louisiana as far east as Lake Charles is also being inundated in a truly "Biblical way" like you might read about "Noah's Ark" in the Bible. The only thing in recorded history that I have seen like this at all as far as rain coming down is the 1862 rains of California which made the Sacramento river 20 miles wide and 250 to 350 miles long at this width. which today would be like the distance between Palos Verdes and Catalina Island if you can imagine that off the coast of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Califonria. The distance between the coast and Catalina is actually 26 miles at the closest point to the mainland. So, 20 miles would be 6 miles less. but, imagine a river as wide as that distance is quite unbelievable. You would literally have to see this to believe it!

I'm not sure enough of what topography is like in Texas other than being pretty flat mostly. But, if you can get to higher ground, mountains, higher stories, in trees in boats moored to trees now might be the time to start thinking like this because this is epic and if you are not prepared you and your families might well drown in this thing.

Also, this thing is just 'Sucking water off the gulf of Mexico' in a truly Biblical way too. So, be prepared for flooding beyond anything Texas has ever seen in history and Louisiana might think about preparing now too if and when it goes there. Slowly, Slowly, Slowly.

Remember Lake Charles Louisiana is being slammed by almost as much rain now as Houston if you watch the radar maps moving.
