So, if we use logic we also realize from this that enlightenment can be instantaneous because Enlightenment also like pure being is not dependent upon either time nor space.
A demonstration of this was given to me by Tibetan Lamas who said to me, "Everyone is already enlightened, they just have to realize it."
It's sort of like if someone said to you your whole life, "someday I will give you a nickel."
What if instead of saying this they said, "Some day I will give you enligthenment."
But, of course this is an obvious lie because no one can give you enlightenment but you.
So, Tibetan Lamas have a way of saying this which is: "Everyone is already enlightened they just have to realize it."
Enlightenment is not something anyone else gives to you, it is a gift you give to yourself.
I liken it to waking up in the morning. All you have to do is to open your eyes and to keep them open.
The exact same thing is true of enlightenment. All you do is to open your eyes to the truth of life all around you.
Is enlightenment painful? Yes.
Is enligthenment joyful ? Yes.
It is all these things and more. But, unless you open your eyes like you do every morning you cannot experience enlightenment while you are hiding under the bed with your eyes forced closed to close out the world.
It was explained to me that enlightenment is a perfect understanding of everything good and bad and neutral everywhere. To me, it is sort of like learning to work on cars. Once you understand the mechanics of everything good and bad then you know how to fix everything if you are allowed to.
This is enlightenment.
So, open your eyes, become enlightened and let's start fixing everything and turning earth into a heaven.
Okay?
