When in another article it says because Cement industries create more CO2 than most countries on earth what are you going to replace Cement with?
I suggested lasering dirt or rocks to meld them together but for many applications this might not be useful and likely lasering dirt into glass or rocks into a glass rock meld might not be useful in bridges, tall buildings or other structural uses because of brittleness associated with Glass. However, maybe if it were reinforced with rebar that could change or other things. However, melting dirt or rocks into something structural might create even more gases unwanted that could be poisonous to people much like Volcanoes spewing gases often kill people too.
And even if the human race moves underground more and more to escape the heat or cold like many burrowing animals do too, cement and rebar likely would be needed there especially places in which earthquakes tend to occur.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
