Instead of 10 dashes denoting road closure there is but one red dash left, so they might be in the process of opening the road right now. since it is presently 1:12 pm here right now.
I'm referring to Highway 30 from Lahaina to Kahului on Maui. It has been closed off and on for about 24 hours now because of a fire in that area which likely is preventing tourists getting to and from Lahaina side to their resort destinations from the airport or to the airport in Kahului to fly home. The section that has been closed off and on is from Maalaea to White Lookout point on Highway 30.
