In summers when temperatures go above 120 degrees this usually means at night the temperatures never go below about 100 at around 6 am in the morning. So, if you are outside you have to endure all this if you are camping. This I did in 1975 while doing mining assaying with a backhoe operator and my father for our mining business then about this time of year in Gila Bend, Arizona. In order to not pass out when the sun was hottest I used a windmill that was there nearby for animals to drink from that smelled of sulphur to dip my T-shirt in and then I rode my Honda 250XL down dry washes to stay cool enough at the hottest part of the day. I kept from passing out from the heat while we were working out in the heat then. Though we had air conditioning in my Dad's Ford pickup Truck it wasn't practical to run that in that heat while stationary so we didn't. But, the sweat under one's armpits was crusted with salt from the body trying to survive in these temperatures. So, you had to take a stick to scrape off the salt from the T-Shirt under your arms so you didn't get abrasions from moving your arms in these conditions from the salt buildup there.
But, I remember how beautiful at midnight it was there and seeing the full galaxy because of no lights within 50 to 100 miles on the ground then even though it was likely 105 degrees or more still at midnight then in Gila Bend, Arizona. We slept in the back of the pickup truck so we wouldn't get bit by scorpions and tarantulas that lived in the desert there then.
The only place I was ever bitten by a scorpion was in Hawaii on the big island at Hapuna to the north of the island which was a beautiful beach then. But now, I think it is a private resort there all these years later. I was there in August of 1974 with my wife and baby son then. I couldn't walk really except for dragging my leg sort of for about a week after the scorpion bit me on the bottom of my foot.
A scorpion bite can be fatal if they bite you on your neck, head or face but not usually fatal if they bite your foot or hands.
The Dangerous ones are the smaller scorpions not so much the big ones. the smaller ones venom is much more powerful than the bigger ones.
When they bite you it's sort of like getting an electrical shock on your foot (at least this was my experience) and then soon you cannot feel your foot or leg at all sort of like it fell asleep for a week.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
