Though the engine with a pull starter worked fine and started usually any time I tried to start it and the centrifugal clutch also was great as long as you pushed with your legs to get going a little up to 5 to 10 miles per hour, the brake wasn't very good because it was just a metal plate that pushed against the rear tire on a wire to your hand brake grip. It was set up like a motorcycle with a motorcycle throttle. Every once in a while the throttle might get stuck wide open so you had to use the kill switch on the engine to kill the engine if this happened. I wouldn't say this is really safe for kids to ride under about 12 and only then if they know really well what they are dealing with in an emergency.
One time my throttle stuck open at my high school at about 30 miles per hour and I was headed for the tennis courts chain link fence. I didn't want to hit this at 30 with my face so at the last moment I pulled up with my feet and took the blow to my chest on the foam saddle with my chest. A friend of mine was worried but I was young enough to not need anything but maybe a chiropractor after that.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
