Writing

There are basically two reason why people write.

1. Money

and
2. Because they love to write.

When you write for money there is an element to writing that is a lot like becoming a prostitute. In other words this isn't going to work for everyone but only some people who will write what other people want them to

So, I'm in the category of people who love to write because it helps them understand themselves and the world better and leads to their enlightenment and often the enlightenment of others along the way.

But, I don't think I would ever be able to write for money because of what that tends to do to people.

In other words when you write for money "often you cannot write about what you want to write about." "Often you are upset what you are writing about because it isn't what you want to be writing."

Yes. There are exceptions to every rule but there is this tendency to have to write what people want you to write.

But, I suppose if what people want you to write you also like to write about then making money this way might work for you.

For example, while I have been blogging at this particular blog since 2007 and before that I had a Geocities blog until 2007 that I got in June of 1999 when I recovered from my heart virus after I was forced to retire at 50 in fall of 1998.

So, at first I was writing exactly what I wanted to write about and then one day I discovered the stats or statistics page by accident. This changed how I saw everything and I was personally blown away by how differently readers were reacting to what I was writing than what I expected.

I realized that day that I could give my readers what they wanted to read about AND I could also write about what I wanted because we have many interests in common I find. So, I changed a little how I write and compile information and I now have over 2.5 million visits to my site. (even though someone seems to be trying to steal visits from me on more than one occasion of up to 100,000 at a time. But, I seem to have no control of the counters so what am I to do? So, because of this the real amount of visits might be 5 million or more. I don't know at this time because I have reached 2.5 million visits about 10 times by now only to have maybe 40,000 to 100,000 visits removed by someone or by a bot or something. The most visits in a single month have been about 100,000 by the way.

I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that you can write for money or you can write because you love to write and some times you can make money doing what you love.

However, I don't have any advertising on my site because I'm not trying to make money here at all but rather run my site as a public service worldwide instead.

Have a Great Day!
