Today is the kind of day all throughout California where you want to be very careful. If your car breaks down you might die a lot of places. If you don't have ice in your helmet or an electrical cooling system in your helmet and suit you might not want to be riding your motorcycle a lot of places because you might pass out with that helmet on otherwise in the heat. Passing out while riding a motorcycle above 100 degrees while traveling 70 mph isn't a good idea folks.
If you have never been in 120 degrees Fahrenheit before (I have) it is like being in an oven so you spend as little time out in it as you can and how old you are and your health is a big variable here too.
Even where I am on the northern California coast the low today is 71 degrees which is usually only a one or two time event year around for us because most of the year our lows are between 40 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit here with the once or twice a year dip into the 30s depending upon the year sometime between November and late February usually.
It's already 80 degrees here on Sunday at 9:50 AM which is also very unusual for the northern California coast as well any time of the year. Normally, if we were going to even reach 80 it would be around 3 to 5 pm on any other day during the year.
So, if you have never experienced 120 degrees or more be really careful today because you might not know what your body is going to do if you have never experienced this first hand before.
As they say "Experience is the best teacher."
When you start to go into heat prostration and your brain stops working and able to make good decisions it's usually too late to save yourself and then someone else will have to or you will die.
