Why?
Because fires have been an increasing problem as Global Warming increased. So, we just did a quantum jump of Global Climate change into 2020 with these fires. Also, look at 2018 and then 2019 was only 1/20th as bad and now we did 3 million plus acres burned when even in all of 2018 only 1.8 million acres burned then.
And here's the problem: "In California at least (not sure about Oregon or Washington) but in California if we don't get a major rainfall by October or November it means that these fires will still be happening in December and January just like they were in 2018. I remember my wife and I renting a place in Rancho Bernardo or that area for a month or two and a Fire basically blazing down the streets all the way from Fallbrook to Oceanside (and this was in December or January) then!
So Yes! This could go on for 6 months or more if we don't get some good rain (at least here in California) between now and January or February of 2021!
