My 3rd car I bought myself because I was making a lot of money then at age 20

I decided I wanted a Porsche until I tried to sit in a 1962 Porsche convertible and realized I was really too tall for this car because my head (at least my eyes) were above the windshield) because I was and am about 6 feet 5 inches tall. I had the same experience with a mustang Fastback where there wasn't enough head room. But, I finally struck gold with a brand new 1968 Camaro. I didn't have the white pin stripes on mine and it had a white vinyl roof and fancy chrome reverse wheels with oversize wide tires on it for cornering. I had this thing up to 145 miles per hour at one point while I owned it from 1968 until 1978 it remained in the family and was one of the most amazing cars I ever owned.

It had amazing handling and most people didn't have radial tires yet. So, this car could maneuver out of many difficult situations on freeways and saved my life more than once with it's handling characteristics. Often regular cars would crash in freeway situations but not this one. This one was amazing at surviving strange situations.

I can remember driving in the deserts near Yucca Valley up old Woman Springs Road where the buttes are and I saw a wall of water coming out of the mountains toward me. Luckily I was on a paved road and I was able to burn rubber as I spun the car 360 degrees and suddenly leave in the other direction so my car wasn't floating on water sideways across the desert from this flash flood. Amazing Car!
