It is something I learned about while studying Tibetan Buddhism. I think I first heard this term in the 1970s because of all the spiritual movements in the U.S. and around the world that tended to be very international in nature then.
I started praying for the Leisure to Practice somewhere around 1980 because I wanted to have the time to pray for myself and my family much like my mother's mother spent most of her time praying for the family too. One or more people in every family need to be praying for the well being of the family to have better luck than the average person on earth does by the way.
I had been taught to pray without ceasing as a child and got better at it as I grew up. Praying is less about words than what you do with your consciousness mentally, emotionally as well as physically. So, understanding this is a very powerful thing in everyone's life.
So, having a positive attitude while constantly communing with God and angels is important in everyone's life for good outcomes to constantly be taking place in your life and your environment.
The way that I actually received leisure to practice was in 1998 when I was forced by God to retire with a Heart Virus at age 50. Once I had recovered after almost dying for about 8 to 9 months time my cardiologist said, "OH. We figured out what was wrong with you through the process of elimination. You had a heart virus."
He said this was lucky because most people die before it is ever diagnosed.
So, I'm alive basically by God's Grace and medicines like Lisinopril at that time.
By God's Grace
