I find this is often very paradoxical. On the one hand graduating college actually tends to help people focus enough to be financially successful. On the other hand what they often learn in college makes them feel less secure and happy in life. So, though financial success can come through the focus of graduating college with literally any degree it also tends to harm their religious beliefs which might have given them comfort of one kind or another growing up.
I found that going to college was very helpful in some ways and completely counterproductive in other ways to my own sense of well being and inner peace.
So, I found that College is like a hammer in that you can build a house with that hammer or you can just take that hammer and start knocking a hole in your head with it and die.
College is a two edged sword that can save you or kill you any given moment in a variety of ways.
So, is it a good thing to go to college?
It depends upon the person and how balanced they are to begin with.
College can be like a teenager jumping in a Ferrari and soon found dead after driving 200 miles per hour on a road only built for 50 or 60 miles per hour safely.
So, College can be very useful but only if you are mature enough and balanced enough to handle it in your life.
