Actual principles versus Tribalism

 In Tribalism often you don't care about principles because the ONLY guiding factor is to protect members of your tribe no matter what they might have done.

This is how the Republican party is functioning after January 6th (caused by Trump) and the then 500,000 Americans dead by coronavirus on Trump's watch too. So, from a Tribal point of view it doesn't matter how corrupt a criminal Trump is and has always been it only matters being loyal to each other no matter each person's past actions.

Then there is the old Republican party which helped win World War II and who fought the Cold War against Russia. But, Trump likes being paid off by Putin so suddenly it's okay to be corrupted by Russia and Putin?

Then there is Democracy. Trump isn't into free elections or allowing anyone but White men vote in the U.S. which is NOT democracy. 

So, you have the old Republican party which actually has principles and the new Republican party which ONLY has loyalty to Trump. 

But, is Trump Loyal to anyone at all?

Likely not.

Here's the thing about loyalty, it either goes in a circle or it doesn't exist at all. In other words there's no reason to be loyal to ANYONE if they aren't loyal to you too.

And in Trump's case it doesn't exist at all (at least not from him to ANYONE)!
