This is one of the tools for complete enlightenment. You see this a lot in Vipassana retreats of 10 days or more for example where you don't speak for 10 to 14 days or more.
The point is to dump all your thoughts out of your brain sort of like how you would throw up food that is bad for you out of your stomach. So, you want to completely dump ALL thoughts good, bad and indifferent out of your brain just like you would empty your trash out of your trash bins.
How do you do this?
You search for the source of your thoughts.
Why would you do this?
Your soul doesn't live in time and space.
The source of all your thoughts could be thought of as your soul.
But, your thoughts often interfere with your clear connection to your soul.
So, to get at your soul you need to dump all thoughts good, bad and indifferent to get to
the primordial pureness of your immortal soul.
Some Buddhists might put this differently but I realize I'm mostly speaking to secular Christians or other Christi an forms of thought here because of where my blog is most read here on earth in the U.S., Europe and Canada and places like India etc.
The point is your meditation is to look for the source of your thoughts.
Why?
Because likely the source of all your thoughts could be thought of as your immortal soul, your pure primordial never dying soul.
Because your body might die but your soul never will.
So, why not connect to the part of you that never dies and never will.
By God's Grace
Search in your meditation ONLY for the source of your thoughts and let all thoughts good, bad and indifferent fly by you not giving them ANY attention at all.
You will be amazed how relieved you feel after doing this for an hour or more at a time.
