The word "il" which means usually him or it gets information very confusing a lot of the time. Pronouns are important in trying to make sense of what you are reading. So, if it becomes HE or He becomes it then often you are going to be confused at the translation unless you know this eccentricity regarding il and he or him.
Or if you translate he or him to French from English you could also have the same problem or translating it to French but the French speakers would likely understand this problem more than the English Speakers most of whom might speak only English (especially if they are Americans who are known for their ethnocentricity much like the Russians and the Chinese).
I'm thinking it's only people from really big countries that can get this provincial and ethnocentric but I could also be wrong about this.
