I suggest if you are someone who feels safe in the wilderness to do a 4 day vision quest of no water and no food (of any kind). So, literally you put nothing in your mouth for 96 hours.
The first 2 days I did this my mind screamed at me and told me I was going to die. But, I was resolute and by the night of the 2nd day I had a vision of becoming a Great Golden Dragon that breathed out fire on everyone. Since visions at night are much more real than physical reality is there in the dark this was kind of terrifying for me. However, since you will be praying for 4 days and asking visions from God to guide you in your life this was one of the visions God gave me regarding my path.
This led me to meeting Tibetan Lamas in California, Oregon and India and Nepal over the next few years after this experience by the way.
What was interesting to me that relates to my writing and blogging was that when I breathed fire upon people as a Dragon instead of burning people alive and killing them it enlightened them and they smiled in their enlightenment. This showed me that I am a spiritual dragon or the way people see dragons in Asia not in Europe. In Asia the dragon is a great leader or teacher or Guru or something like this when the dragon is positive in nature. So, this was what God was sharing with me in this vision. So, because of this I was moved eventually (about 15 years after this experience) to start blog sites after I almost died of a heart virus from 1998 and 1999. So, in June of 1999 after I had recovered from almost dying I began blogging at Geocities.com (which doesn't exist anymore I believe) as Yahoo business replaced it when they bought it.
So, I now have dragonofcompassion.com at Yahoo business instead of my geocities site that I had to program in HTML myself from 1999 until 2007 when I came here and to dragonofcompassion.com.
Being a human being is something entirely different than I had experienced before this 4 day vision quest no water and no food fast. You begin to see what being a human being really is without all the cultural trappings we are raised with here in the U.S. Being a human is much more than you might think but also we are more vulnerable in certain ways than you might think. Understanding that we are a part of nature and not separate from it at all will help you in your life always too.
Cities make people very unrealistic in various ways worldwide. So, a vision quest takes you back to your most primal of spaces internally and in all ways. This humanizes people more than they were before too.
However, you have to be very mentally and physically whole and strong to survive 4 days without water or food too. So, choose very carefully how you go about your vision quest so you have good results.
