This was also my experience from 1969 to the present. It's true they came back to visit me as an ancestor but they also came back with a purpose which was to create the 2nd timeline that we are presently on because on their timeline human civilization basically ended the first time 9-11-01 happened and the new civilization they are a part of didn't even start until around 5000 AD on the 1st timeline. So, they came back from 7028 AD from the 1st timeline to visit me first in 1969 and 1974 and 1992 and other times along the way to try to create (Successfully) by the way the timeline we are on presently where civilization didn't end from doomsday weapons from mainly the U.S., Russia and China and other nations on the first timeline on 9-11-01.

I really like the way that they did "The Tomorrow War" because many aspects of time travel are similar to how they depicted it in this movie. Retroactively fixing time like the main character Chris Pratt and others did is how time is repaired and has been repaired by Earth Time Guards since World War II at the very least also. They are also assisted by Galactic Time Guards in doing this as well.
