I heard this great quote on Real Time with Bill Mayer on HBO recently. I got to thinking about this quote and it's basically true. This is why I guess people can either believe in science as it has been proved so far or believe in their religions or their philosophies or choose not to think about the whole thing at all.
For example:
What is existence?
Is it real?
Are we real?
Are we concepts in the mind of God and the physical universe is inside the mind of God?
The last idea is actually my experience of the universe where the physical universe is inside the mind of God and so it is real but not real in the way most people think about it.
From my point of view it really doesn't matter whether the universe is real or not in the same way that if you are in a movie theater watching a movie does it matter to you whether the actors and sets and movie is real or not? Or is it an experience that makes you think and feel and experience the universe in various ways that is useful and or entertaining to you?
So, from that point of view whether all this could be considered real or not is not the question. The question might be: "Are you enjoying any of this or does it serve some real and useful purpose in your lives?
If the answer is "NO" then you might need to rethink your lives and what you are doing with your lives.
