You notice that the low for Saturday in Death Valley is 101 degrees Fahrenheit

It was like this when I was in Gila Bend, Arizona years ago with my father where it would be 120 degrees during the day and around 100 degrees at 6 am in the morning. I found it physically stressful to be there then even though I was likely around 27 years old when I did this work with my father there without air conditioning for a few days. However, I did have my 1974 Honda 250 motorcycle with me then so I could wet my t-shirt from a windmill that drew up water for wildlife there that smelled like sulphur and ride down dry washes to try to cool down so I wouldn't pass out in the heat of the day. We mostly worked from about dawn until noon. After that it was just too hot to do much but try to find some shade and cool down.

We slept in the back of our pickup truck so we wouldn't be bitten by scorpions because the ones there are the little ones that can do you in if you are stung on the head or neck. But, you can usually survive a scorpion sting on your hand or foot or leg you just might not be able to use the limb you get stung on for several days for anything. I was stung by a small scorpion on the big island of Hawaii at Hapuna Beach before they built the resort there in 1974 when I lived in Hilo with my wife and baby son then.
