Why?
Because in some ways we might be the best functioning economy on earth right now. China cannot deal with Delta. Australia cannot deal with Delta. Even Israel cannot deal with Delta and they started vaccinating their people with Pfizer I believe in December of 2020.
So, have compassion for the U.S. and the world because Covid appears to just be getting started on killing millions and millions around the world.
And you think the South of the U.S. is bad. Just check out other countries where their vaccination programs are screwed up. People laughed at Americans last year but they are not laughing except at people mostly in the South now who didn't get vaccinated. Vaccination trucks all over the world are getting hijacked by Drug Lords and criminals so their families can stay alive for example.
Most people on earth would Kill to get vaccinated like people can here in the U.S. and wonder: "What idiots some Americans are who want to die without a vaccine?"
The rest of the world thinks people in the U.S. who don't get vaccinated are crazy. (and likely dead within a few years time from some new variant). Are they right? Not sure yet. There are still too many unknown variables for even virologists to know for sure yet.
The best news so far is we are not losing 3000 to 4000 people a day like in January of 2021. Yet. But the bad news is the people dying are mostly zero to 50 years of age because 85% of people over 50 are vaccinated now in the U.S. But, we are losing over 1000 a day right now and this likely will increase a lot during the next month to around 2000 a day.
