The fatal game of chicken was played in California by young people using cars that they were driving over cliffs in the 1950s. The problem with this is some drivers got caught on door handles exiting the cars and died as the cars crashed on the surf and rocks below the cliffs. The same might be true of the rest of our nation and world riding in these cars over a cliff with the debt ceiling not handled by the Republicans at this point.
So, imagine the Republicans playing chicken with the debt ceiling and us all going over a cliff (while the progressive Democrats are wanting to hand out presents to everyone in the car while it is going over the cliff. But, the money to pay for the presents is in the betting being done about who survives or wins the game of Chicken. So, the progressives in the car don't have the money to buy the presents until the betting is over but all the people in the cars will be dead by then because they will have gone over the cliff and crashed into the rocks and surf below.
Quite a picture isn't it?
But, this is what this week is all about!
