Underestimating how serious this week is is something both Conservatives and progressives seem to be doing right now.
Let me describe in a story form how serious this is:
We have never defaulted on our debts before as a country but the Republicans just made it almost impossible for us not to this week by refusing to extend the debt ceiling problem to at least December.
So, for the ship of state the Republicans just put a bomb on our ship of state.
Next. The Senate voted for the 1 trillion dollar infrastructure bill quite a while ago. But, progressives have said that they won't vote for it in the House until the 3.5 trillion dollar bill is passed.
So, what I'm saying here is that the Republicans just set a time bomb on the ship of state and the progressives are worried that they won't be able to give presents to everyone on board even though the whole ship is about to blow up.
So, Republicans and Democrats Where are your priorities?
Both of the parties act like they have Covid dementia the way they are acting right now!
I suppose one way to look at it is both parties have serious PTSD from so many friends and relatives dying of Covid and people dying of Covid all over the world.
This could be the problem here.
However, if cooler heads don't prevail the ship of state just got Bombed by the Republicans to the point where there will not be a ship of state without dealing with the debt Ceiling.
If you don't deal with the debt ceiling this week then the 1 trillion and the 3.5 Trillion dollar bills mean less than nothing!
Because the Republicans just blew up the Ship of State by not allowing a temporary fix to the debt ceiling to be passed that would take us to December 2021!
