What is the National Debt of Russia?
12 percent of their national GDP.

If Russia declared war on the U.S. (a ground war) would the U.S. go bankrupt because of our high national debt? Maybe.

However, my wife says also that the U.S. has more national resources (including our citizens) than any other country on earth. The U.S. is a very unusual country with highly educated people and the freedom to be an entrepreneur in basically ANY direction. Because of this any nation or nations that underestimate the U.S. (since 1900) have been defeated one way or another. But, this is ONLY in large wars like World War I and World War II that actually have a useful end to them.

For example, Viet Nam would have bankrupted the U.S. except that European and Japanese and other countries loaned the U.S. enough money to keep going then because we helped them after World War II.
So, good will help towards other nations often makes them friends and helpful when you need help too.
