How to survive without an air conditioner if you have a refrigerator with a freezer

When I was growing up in the 1950s we had refrigerators but in cars and homes air conditioners were complete luxuries that didn't exist mostly in homes and cars then. However, if you lived somewhere like Arizona or the deserts of California you might have what they called a Swamp Cooler which was water dripping down panels containing something similar to hay on your roof with fans blowing the evaporating air into your homes which made the whole house smell sort of like "Wet Hay" or something like that. Air conditioners were just too expensive then for most people in both Cars and homes at this point in the 1950s at least.

But, what people had always done (who had refrigerators or ice) is that they took fans and blew the wind from the fans over the bowl of ice (like in a kitchen or bedroom). This helped a lot because the fan took your sweat and evaporated it which works well if you are in a dry place but not as well if you are in a humid place.

So, the people in the most danger are those in humid areas where likely only an air conditioner will help at this point. But, even then you could take a piece of ice and put it on the back of your neck to cool your brain or wrap the ice in a wet wash cloth and then put it on the back of your neck or forehead so your brain doesn't get so hot you can no longer make good decisions.

Once you lose the ability to make good decisions because your brain is too hot it's all over for you unless you have someone to save you. So, preserving your brain by cooling it is the most important way to survive these very hot times worldwide.

So, keep making ice in the freezer section of your refrigerator so you can keep your brain working by putting ice on your forehead or back of your neck. Otherwise, you might be going to the hospital or worse. So, take care of yourselves if you don't have a refrigerator by either going to a mall where it is air conditioned or putting ice somewhere to help you survive these times. If you don't keep your brain cool enough to function, who will?
