It reminded me a little of the "Jungle Cruise" in Disneyland in some ways and I was surprised at the whole experience. You get the shaded passenger boat near Kapa'a on the East side of Kauai which is just barely north of Lydgate park which is a safe place to snorkel where the Sharks cannot get to you because of the lava boulder breakwater they built there where the waves and some fish can wash over the breakwater but sharks cannot get in there at all. So, anyway the "Jungle Cruise" or more specifically Rainforest experience is pretty cool. However, I suppose it could be warm on some days doing this but luckily it was sort of misting which made for a nicer experience temperature wise. Some people also rent Kayaks to go up stream like this too which you likely will see by doing this tour. They said they have 9 covered barges to take you a few miles up river into the rain forest which is a pretty amazing experience.
So, if it is raining which it does a lot on Kauai because it is known in some areas as the rainiest place on earth there is a cover over your head but that doesn't mean that the wind cannot blow the rain inside where you are sitting too sometimes.
