Ewan
McGregor and Charley Boorman's extraordinary round-the-world journey by
motorbike. Focusing on their preparation, including a trial run in
Australia, where Ewan fears his off-road skills may not be up to
scratch. Back in England, the duo set up an HQ, map out the trip, work
on their fitness and gen up on kidnap avoidance and first aid.
Meanwhile, the production team prepare to capture the marathon journey.
Ewan
and Charley travel through Europe, heading for the border into
Slovakia. At the border they are warned by a local about `grossa mafia'
in Ukraine, and are kept waiting to cross into Slovakia for 12 hours.
The next day they race to Kiev, desperate to keep their 3pm appointment
with UNICEF. Once in Kiev, Ewan and Charley visit UNICEF's project with
the children of Chernobyl.
Ewan
and Charley reach Kazakhstan to be greeted by annoying police escorts
and terrible roads, but anxiety turns to terror when a passing local
raises a gun to them.
