There are two groups no democratic presidential hopeful can win without:
1. Moderate and conservative Blacks
2. Independents.
Neither Warren nor Sanders can win this vote because they are too far left.
Because of this, neither of them can win against Trump because most Americans who actually vote are between 40 and 80 years of age. And this group is very moderate with some being conservative in general and not liberal enough for Sanders or Warren.
So, unless Sanders and Warren could win the Moderate and conservative Black vote and Independents they cannot win as president.
