- Chicago Tribune - 20 minutes agoSAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Firefighters on Saturday battled to gain control of a fast-moving wildfire raging on the edge of Yosemite National ...I can't seem to quote this one but basically Hetch Hetchy Reservoir which supplies San Francisco which once was as beautiful as Yosemite Valley before it was filled with water is right where the fire is now so it is depositing ash into the water supply now. Also, electrical generation I believe also comes out of Hetch Hetchy Dam so this will affect power to San Francisco as well. San Francisco has one of the best water sources of all large cities in the U.S. because of this (without the fire at least)Please click on above word button to read full article if you wish.
