BEIRUT - The president of the Iraqi region of Kurdistan pledged Saturday to do everything in his power to defend Syria's Kurds from al-Qaeda-linked rebels, signaling a further potential expansion of the Syrian civil war beyond the country's borders ...
I wasn't able to quote more than this. So, if you wish to read this article please click on the word button that says "Iraqi Kurdish leader------"
This is going to make all this much more complicated because the Kurds are fighting for control of the oil fields of Northern Syria who are fighting against Al Qaeda for control of these oil fields. Assad has lost control of many of the oilfields of Syria. If the Kurds in Iraq and the Kurds in Turkey all come to the aid of the Syrian Kurds defending the oil fields against all comers this will only bring other countries into the conflict that has already been complicated by Hezbollah killing Al Qaeda soldiers and Al Qaeda soldiers likely beginning a war against Hezbollah that might last 100 years or more as it is.
I think we have mostly come to the point where almost no one can fully make sense of what is going on in Syria even if they wanted to.
