Overpopulation in the U.S.?

When I speak of overpopulation in the U.S. people might say "What?" But what I'm really talking about is overpopulation in areas that support life. A lot of the U.S. is desert and high mountains and it is harder at higher altitudes to support a lot of people. It is also harder for people to live in the deserts, especially now that Global Warming has taken away a lot of the water in the deserts of the U.S. to where the Colorado River is almost drying up some years. Even Las Vegas is in Serious trouble because Lake Mead is so low this year. IN other words there are too many people in Las Vegas, for example, for the water there to actually support long term. After all a Mafia figure started Las Vegas originally in the historical sense, whereas most cities naturally form on oceans or near rivers or good water sources.

So, when I talk about overpopulation I'm simply saying that where there is enough water those areas are saturated with people. But, where there is not enough water those areas often one can drive 20 to 50 miles or more and see no one living there.  Is it possible for people to live in those barren, deserts with no water sources? Of course. But that means hauling in water in tanks from somewhere else and often setting up your own solar array because power isn't there either. It might also be possible to recycle your water by reusing grey water on your plants that you are growing too. But, eventually more water is going to be needed to live where there is no river, lake or well water available.
