The Cool War?

Some people call what is happening now as the "Cool War". To understand better what people are talking about one must understand what came before. When the Soviet Union collapsed from Chernobyl and the Soviet War in Afghanistan and many other factors, they had to give up influence and control of the Eastern European nations and various other controls in the world that they had before. But, the economic collapse of the Soviet Union changed all that to where we now have Russia and Siberia as what is left of the Soviet Empire built by Lenin, Stalin,  and all the others in the Soviet lineup of leaders since 1917 and the Communist Revolution. So, when all this collapsed around 1989 to 1991, Russia became a democracy through Yeltsin and everything changed. However, when Putin came into power he was a throwback to the old KGB type of training, so his thoughts were much more old school Soviet Union than other leaders were since Yeltsin.

This is why many call what is happening in the middle East in Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon etc. as the new "Cool War" being fostered by Putin primarily much to the horror of Europe and the U.S. I'm not entirely sure what China thinks about all this.

So, now we have a "Proxy war" in Syria fostered primarily by Putin with Russian Troops and Weapons and secondarily by Iran and Iranian Troops and Weapons and now Iran financed Hezbollah troops as well. However, since Hezbollah always told everyone they were to destroy Israel first, this is very confusing for everyone in the middle east. It is sort of like an Otter suddenly demonstrating  that it is actually a duck or something like that. So, a lot of turmoil in the middle east now is in reaction to Hezbollah going into Syria and upsetting the balance.

The best way I can put all this is that the "Middle East is on Fire" now partly because of the new stand of Russia in the Middle East. This is giving Europe and the U.S. fits because it is a return (by Putin) to old Cold war Tactics. But, everyone is pretending it isn't really happening because the real "Cold War" was horrific beyond anything people who weren't adults during it could actually even imagine today.

So, because most adults under about  40 or 50 years of age don't really remember the Cold War it isn't that hard to pretend there isn't a new Cold War (Cool War) happening. So, the world is in denial of what is actually happening. Which might actually be a good thing because it will maybe lessen the amount of nervous breakdowns and suicides and other problems people had during the ACTUAL "Cold War" worldwide happening again now (at least for now).

However, the people in the Middle East cannot pretend it is not happening because the proxy war in Syria and all the murders and deaths in Iraq and Lebanon and Egypt are likely all apart of the new stand by Putin either directly or indirectly.

However, I'm sure Putin would say he is just protecting the 50,000 Russians living in Syria and the only Warmwater Russian port in Syria that Russia has available. But, it is killing people not only in Syria but throughout many nations in the middle east now both directly and indirectly. And this is why the people of the middle east in Syria and Egypt especially blame the United States because they are too afraid to blame Russia. Because the Soviet Union wasn't very nice during the Cold War even though the U.S. tried to be. So, it's easier to blame the U.S. than Russia because it is less likely that the U.S. is going to kill them directly or indirectly. And it is more likely that saying anything bad about Russia could get them killed. The middle east remembers the Cold War maybe more in some ways than people in the U.S. do. Because it was even more dangerous for them then than now.
