I went to the movies today. While standing in line to buy a ticket I noticed a sign on the ticket window that indicated I was eligible for a senior discount. For some reason I was surprised. I don't know why. I'd been eligible for quite some time, but until that moment I'd never considered availing myself of this somewhat dubious perk. Anyway, I jokingly pointed out to the young girl in the ticket booth that I was indeed old enough to be treated as a senior. She nodded and proceeded to give me the discount. I asked if she wanted to see proof of age. She glanced at me, shrugged and said, "Nope." The movie was a comedy, but I was in no mood to laugh. I just sat there and sulked until I fell asleep.
End quote from Chuck Lorre Productions, #427
I often use the senior discounts at movies now. I figure I've earned them over the years. After all, I survived to 65 unlike many people I know and this was no easy thing to do. So, for me, it is sort of like: "Hey! I survived when so many other people I knew didn't." But then again that's just me.
But, sometimes I miss being in my 20s and handsome and watching girls of all ages try to pretend they weren't watching me as I walked down the street. But, most of all, now I'm just grateful to be alive especially every time I climb on my dualsport motorcycle and go for a ride along the beach.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
