Putin's Anti-Capitalist War in Ukraine: and eventually the rest of Europe?

I think China might understand Putin better than Europe or the U.S. do because they started out last century with more similar governments.

So, I don't think Europe or the U.S. fully understand what Putin is up to. I think he is trying to create another Soviet Union and the economic sanctions the U.S. is or will apply to Russia will help Russia create his "New Soviet Union". I think his plan is not to just "take over" or destabilize Ukraine economically, I think he real plan is to bring back the Soviet Union.

Could he theoretically succeed in this. The real answer might be. Maybe. But, Europe and the U.S. would have to be sort of stupid about all this for this to actually happen.

IF you look at the tactics he is presently using in Ukraine they are "Old School KGB" tactics.

How do you take over or destabilize a country economically?

The old style KGB style would be: You vandalize businesses (which is being done now in Ukraine) and make them unable to operate properly. You steal farm equipment so farmers cannot farm. You destroy or burn down businesses. You make local leaders disappear or imprison them secretly so you can more easily take over. You hire mercenaries to do all this for you that are well trained ex-military professionals from nearby nations. In otherwords you hire people to rough up people, destroy businesses and to scare or make people disappear until you can do whatever  you want to (hopefully with as little public bloodshed as possible. (However, when all this settles down people will come to notice the hundreds or thousands of local leaders and sometimes their families that are now missing that likely never will be heard from again.

If Putin is successful with this he likely will try this anywhere there are Russian people who prefer to be under Russia than there local country for both ethnic and business reasons and for family reasons etc.

Sanctions against Russia likely will just fit into Putin's and his friends long term plans of returning the Soviet Union to power once again by defeating capitalism using the above techniques city by city and area by area. This way he will take over or destabilize territory with as little blood loss as possible.

Europe and the U.S. need to be careful to be smart about this otherwise he might succeed in creating another anti-capitalistic state like the Soviet union that slowly grows like this as a cancer upon mankind. He might get away with this because in the end who or what will stop him? If he is willing to bluff nuclear weapons he might just succeed. So, how will the west win this time? That remains to be seen on the world stage.

The sooner the whole world realizes this is the most serious world wide situation since the Cuban Missile Crisis the better off everyone will be. This is the worst thing to happen since 1962 on earth at present as it keeps going. This if it isn't handled properly could be much worse than world war II because of nuclear weapons all over the earth now.
