I was browsing through the Internet this morning and by accident spied something that said: Sporting sails, so being curious about what this was about i put, "Sporting Sails" into Google Search and watched this video. It turns out it is primarily a way to slow down on skateboards (likely especially longboards) so you don't go too fast on corners and crash. So, it is using the wind to slow down when necessary on Skateboards, snowboarding and surfing or in other circumstances to speed up using the wind like a Sail. However, on windy days you likely don't want to be using something like this to slow down so you don't get injured. So, be practical.
