I think it is less important WHAT one believes in and more important that they believe in Something.
However, then if they have to kill people to sustain that belief it becomes a problem for everyone.
But, believing in Something often is the difference between sanity and insanity or the same thing regarding living or suicide.
There was a saying when I was growing up that went like this:
"It's just a mental attitude that makes mankind plod
It's just a mental attitude that takes mankind to God"
This makes a good point.
The point is that if you are addicted to plodding when are you going to allow
Breakthrough ideas come into your head so you can get ahead physically or spiritually?
So, "I'm okay because I believe in something is far more important than one might originally think.
Because if you don't believe in something it just might cause the end of you.
Even if it is believing in yourself sometimes that can keep a person sane and alive.
Some people believe in nature so after work or school they take long walks in nature alone or with friends.
Some people interface nature and God and are at peace in nature as their church.
Other people need something else.
We are all very different sometimes.
We all need different things to survive in a human body here on earth.
So, believing in something is one of the ways we humans find to stay alive to old age and chose to live and to help others.
For me, I discovered "A Path of Compassion" because I found most other paths wanting.
A "Path of compassion" is the basis of civilization that works in regard to helping yourself and helping all others.
So, if you are kind to yourself you then learn to be kind to others because they are your brothers and sisters. Then you learn Right mindful Compassion which is efficient practical compassion towards yourself and all other beings.
This is the basis I have found of surviving yourself and all others here on earth.
However, this is just my path that I learned starting when I was around 30 or 32.
However, what it brought me was health, wealth, happiness and security and peace.
So, this is what works for me.
Do I believe in God?
Yes. Because with the traumas in my life I would not have survived otherwise.
Does this mean God exists. Likely not. But, if you believe in something it becomes real for you whether in reality it is real or not. This is just a part of what it is to be human.
Believing in God has nothing to do with whether God ultimately exists or not. What it has to do with is: "Is it useful for you to believe in God? Does it allow you to be a better person and to have a better life to believe in God?"
These are the important questions in the end.
But, if your belief in God makes you kill people then maybe you should consider being an agnostic or atheist. Because killing people defeats the whole purpose of believing in God.
There is no point at all in believing in God if this causes you to harm others. This is what I think.
Whereas a path of compassion is the path of civilization where people help one another ongoing and more people survive that way.
But then there is overpopulation and what do we do about that?
I think that we are going to be thinned out over the next several hundred years by storms, and heat and cold and global climate change to the point where there likely will be 1 billion or less of us once again.
But, until then "I'm Okay because I believe in something."
So, maybe the important thing is to find something to believe in even if it is yourself.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
