When I looked at my stats counter I was surprised to see well over 881,000 visits to my site. It must be because I'm traveling that I had overlooked this. However, it is also true that during world crises more people tend to visit my site because they might be able to get more information than they can at home (anywhere on earth) or if they are mountain climbing way away from the grid except for a smart phone that might work part of the time so they can read my articles with their data on on the Internet.
I try to help the world be aware of the most serious worldwide events going on as well as things I'm intrigued by or interested in. So, during a crisis or series of crises like right now my readership always goes way up because people want to know what is going on more.
I think the readership of various magazines and newspapers is a lot like this too.
