The
beloved comic and retired Daily Show host Jon Stewart will be returning
to the air soon, just as the 2016 election cycle is in full swing, CNN
Money reports.
Jon Stewart follows John Oliver to HBO
The former "Daily Show" host, who walked away from the anchor desk in August, has inked a new four-year production deal with HBO to create short-form digital clips for HBO Now, HBO Go and other platforms. The deal also has a first-look option for film and TV projects.

"I'm pretty sure I can produce a few minutes of content now and again", said Stewart.
In a statement, Stewart said he was "so excited" join HBO, adding, "Appearing on television 22 minutes a night clearly broke me". But both parties are pleased with the agreement, with HBO president Michael Lombardo saying the network is "thrilled to welcome back [Stewart's] vast talents in this next chapter of his career".
The Stewart collaboration is the latest in a string of programming coups for the premium-cable giant, including partnerships with the producers of "Sesame Street" and former ESPN commentator Bill Simmons.
