This year, the U.S. is importing 3.4 milion barrels of oil from Canada each day, accounting for 43% of all oil imports.

So, this means this oil is coming ongoing by train and truck as of now which is a lot of jobs for both Canadians and Americans already. In fact, it could be argued that it takes more jobs to haul it the way it is done now than if the pipeline actually was put in. So, if you put in the pipeline it actually would take away jobs from people operating trains and trucks.
