When you take away all weapons from people like they have in Paris (For Safety?) you also take away their rights like right now people can be:
1. electronically tagged without doing anything wrong
2. held for 24 hours on no charges.
etc. etc. etc.
Now at first glance this looks "Necessary!" but after thinking about it if people in Paris were allowed to have their own guns to protect themselves they wouldn't need to be treated so much like they were Jewish people during a Nazi invasion of Paris.
I think it is important that we all think about this for a moment.
I think Israel and the U.S. have a better idea of arming their citizens to prevent terrorism. Because even cities in the U.S. where guns have been mostly removed from those cities have burglaries at a much higher rate because criminals (terrorists are criminals too especially in Paris where terrorists are drug dealers and worse). So, criminals of all kinds know that where people might own guns legally they are mostly going to stay out of because they could be killed.
Even in Paris terrorists keep hitting civilians because they cannot fight back against AK-47s and bomb belts. Whereas you are not going to see this in the U.S. where a lot of people own guns because they would just get shot.
I was recently (about a month ago now) in South Korea visiting friends. And the behavior of truck drivers and motorcyclists you would never see in the U.S. just because if you did some of the things they regularly do there they would be shot by motorists for example, where I live in California.
So, just being a motorist in California you know you could be shot by an irate other driver. So, this is a great equalizer on the road. So, for example, I'm very careful to pull over so others can pass me and be very polite on the road. But, I'm also a very aggressive driver because this way I don't fall asleep at the wheel. So, I find it much safer for me and others if I'm an aggressive driver but also very polite at letting others pass anytime they want to on a freeway.
The important thing here is:
"PEOPLE'S RIGHTS TEND TO GO AWAY IN SITUATIONS LIKE PARIS WHERE PEOPLE CANNOT OWN WEAPONS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM TERRORISTS OR OTHER CRAZY PEOPLE".
When Martial law goes into effect no one has any rights at all.
So, the problem from my point of view is you need to arm the populace when something like this happens or all rights might go away permanently.
Paris and France right now are a perfect example of a place where people might lose all rights permanently if another terrorist attack occurred there where it killed say 500 people.
Watch the news and see if I am right if that ever happened.
All rights could permanently go away.
Which would be very very sad for the country that helped the U.S. be free through Lafayette from France during the revolutionary war. France helped the U.S. be free initially more than any other country.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
