Trevor Noah and the Perforated appendix

Note: Trevor Noah is 31 years old from South Africa and took over the Daily Show on the Comedy Central Network for Jon Stewart.

He is obviously 36 years younger than I at 31. And also my god daughter and had an appendicitis and went back to work within one week also around his age. However, it is important to note that having an perforated appendix is nothing to sneeze at.

Yes. He laughingly speaks of feeling like he is dying at the hospital when he had it removed. And yes, he must have an incredible immune system to be able to work after only one day in the hospital. And yes, he cannot stand or walk without help because of the staples or stitches or both.

But, there is a whole lot to know about what an appendicitis or burst appendicitis can do to your whole immune system especially if you have the misfortune of getting Sepsis.

So, to see someone back to work in one day means he likely had the best care available in New York City. But, it also makes one wonder if he is still going to be alive or whether he is going to have to go back into the hospital with complications too because this is still an unfamiliar event.

So, though on the one hand I commend him for being such a good sport that he is back to work with only one day off I also worry about complications from going to back to work so soon after surgery.

However, he might just have the best immune system in the world too and might be okay especially at 31 and healthy before his surgery.

However, this year I have been meeting men who had an appendicitis who spent 30 to 50 days in the hospital with sepsis and almost died.

I was lucky too and had a really great immune system like he likely does. But the operation wasn't the worst part it was the physical and psychological trauma after the event and all the anti-biotics that made me throw up.

So, if you can get anti-biotics in shot form that don't make you throw up as much like oral ones do you should try to do that if you have an appendicitis because there are some really great ones you can get in shot form that make you feel like a million dollars.

Note: My appendix burst on March 27th 2015 and I had it removed after I found out what it was with a CT scan the Saturday before Easter. (The night before Easter).
