It reminds me a little of the TV series "Fargo" at least the first episode does. Jason Bateman directs and acts in this and also Laura Linnie is in this series and both actors are excellent at this by the way and they have two kids in this series a boy and a girl.
First episode is very intense by the way so be prepared for this sort of like you would prepare for an episode of "Fargo" in some ways. IF you haven't seen it before. I think a 2nd season has been shot because Laura Linnie was on The Colbert Show on CBS talking about it some.
