When I look at this map I'm thinking the yellow markers are where the fire was yesterday and the orange and red markers are where the fire is today (the hotspots). Though It appears they have kept the fire from coming further into the City of Redding, the fire itself appears to be spreading in several directions at once (to the north), to the west and to the south. Only in the East have they been somewhat successful in stopping it from moving further into downtown Redding.
