If you are going to put in solar power on your roofs of your home or business it is important to have an agreement that you can still have access to your own solar power when P,G&E shuts off power or any other power company does. This isn't just for California by the way as weather changes I think you are going to see power being shut off to reduce the liability of power companies from California, up to Washington and over as far east as the Mississippi River because of the shared weather patterns west of the Mississippi river over time. So, Solar power is a survival strategy for your home or business during fires and firestorms all over the western United States.
But, unless you can store power with something like a Tesla Battery so you have enough power at night or when there are storms covering the sun this won't be very helpful. So, in addition to solar panels you will need a gas or diesel generator for backup and batteries like a Tesla battery to store the excess electricity you generate when the sun is out.
This way when P, G &E shuts off power in the future (or any other power company) to reduce their liability from lines being blown down and sparking fires, your home or business will have enough power to go on (especially perishable food businesses like markets of all sizes and restaurants).
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
