Rain has been off and on for a couple of weeks now but flooding has mostly been on 101 near Chualar
Having the 101 closed is a rare event for Northern California at least near San Francisco or Salinas. It more often closes Highway 1 between Monterey and Castroville. One year there was no way off the Monterey Peninsula except by plane or boat or helicopter in fact. So, the flooding could sporadically hit various other parts of California if the Atmospheric river keeps hitting the SF Bay area, San Diego and Los Angeles etc. So, we will see where it is going to rain or flood soon this late fall and winter. Since Winter doesn't formally begin until December 21st 2019 we have a few weeks to go of late fall flooding.
