There is a chance that the Nevada quake is the first of twin quakes, the first one smaller and the 2nd one larger. The Seismic specialists said that this region of faults between the Mojave Desert and Nevada often has a smaller quake and then a larger quake but hopefully there is only a 4% chance of this during the next few weeks time. However, this last quake was 6.5 which is not a small quake and if it had hit directly in the middle of Las Vegas the story would have been much different than a major highway broken in half and not safe to drive on.
