All the money we could have used to repair roads, bridges, gas mains, power lines, etc. etc. etc. has gone into our military industrial complex which makes us the laughing stock of the civilized world that we have been so wasteful with our money fighting unknown foes instead of maintaining our infrastructure. Almost every week now someone blows up or otherwise dies because of this lack of upgrading our gas lines or bridges or roads. We haven't upgraded seriously since Eisenhower built freeways across our land so people could evacuate fast if we got nuked from big cities that got nuked (theoretically).
Since that didn't happen we have great highways and freeways everywhere but even they now aren't properly maintained often. So, people blowing up from old faulty gas mains is something that happens almost every week and the same with collapsing or bridges that get condemned and cannot be used anymore all across our country.
The military industrial complex has gobbled up all the money we needed to maintain our infrastructure and now we are the laughing stock of the civilized world because of it.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
