92 presently in Mt. Shasta going up to 96 degrees Fahrenheit
I went out in Santa Barbara a few weeks ago and bought a portable air conditioner. In the past I bought 3 of these for each of my kids for their apartments in Portland several years ago. I like portability of units on wheels that can easily cool down at least one room effectively like a bedroom in an apartment or house. The place we are staying is near lakes and a meadow but the temperature this week is going to be in the mid 90s for the next 7 days time. So, keeping an air conditioner on in this temperature where we are staying is nice so we can keep the temperature down to 74 to 76 degrees which is what is practical in this kind of heat. You don't want more than about a 20 degree temperature difference between inside and outside our sometimes you could get a cold going back and forth in higher differences in temperature during the summer wherever you are.
The friend whose place this is put up on his redwood deck an old clawfoot tub full size for days just like this up next to a beautiful port orford Ceder at least 3 foot through and really tall on his acreage so you can look out on a mountain meadow on a day like this outside in an old clawfoot tub (close to heaven).
Right now it's about 110 degrees Fahrenheit in Redding around noon about 60 miles away at a lower altitude. Here we are likely around 3800 feet to 4000 feet in altitude.
Luckily it's pretty dry here (the air) because if it was humid 110 degrees can easily kill a person.
Just for kicks and giggles here is Death Valley, California this week:
Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures of 110- 125 degrees expected ... High temperatures of 100-105 degrees expected for Bishop, Olancha, Caliente, Pioche, and ...
