This time of year lightning is ONLY okay if rain comes with it to put out any fires started by the lightning. But, luckily, rain DID come with this lightning and thunder so hopefully there will not be serious fire or smoke. We will know within a few days now I guess one way or the other.
I was sitting in the large clawfoot ancient bath tub outside on the redwood deck and a young man came to water the gardens around the main house so I said hi and he said he had grown up here in Mt. Shasta. Then the lightning and thunder crashed and it began to rain and he went home because of the rain things wouldn't need to be watered as much. And I got out of the huge ancient bath tub and went inside to my wife as the rain was getting kind of cold and the wind was blowing small branches out of the big Cedar tree once more.
