1000 volts is what runs along the top
of most telephone poles to houses in the U.S. After a transformer reduces it to
220 single phase you have a chance to survive it like this lineman did.
Businesses use double phase 220 and that is much less likely to survive than single phase

"The Kiss of Life" - A utility worker giving mouth-to-mouth to a co-worker after he contacted a low voltage wire - 1967
Taken in 1967 by Rocco Morabito, “The Kiss of Life” captured the once in a lifetime shot of utility worker J.D. Thompson saving his co-worker, Randall G. Champion, with mouth to mouth after he touched a low voltage line.
The two utility workers were working on a telephone line when Champion accidentally touched the low voltage line. It knocked him out and Thompson, the fast thinker that he was, grabbed his co-worker and resuscitated him.
Morabito was driving on West 26th Street on an assignment when he passed the two men. He snapped some picks at the strike of the low voltage line, but when he came back around he captured Thompson’s life saving decision. He explained:
I heard screaming. I looked up and I saw this man hanging down. Oh my God. I didn’t know what to do. I took a picture right quick. J.D. Thompson was running toward the pole. I went to my car and called an ambulance. I got back to the pole and J.D. was breathing into Champion. I backed off, way off until I hit a house and I couldn’t go any farther. I took another picture. Then I heard Thompson shouting down: He’s breathing!
