Talking with old friends (all vaccinated and immune for 209 days or more) in an enclosed room together having dinner take out ordered from a restaurant.
This is something a lot of us have waited a long time for. Also, another luxury. Staying in a hotel and feeling comfortable because we both are vaccinated and just wearing KN-95 masks in the hallways to our room then airing out the room to feel safer just before settling in.
These are both luxuries unimaginable during most of the last year now until now. And my friends telling me that we could (after a year's time) use the bathroom in their main house once again because we all are vaccinated.
Despite what is happening in India, here in the U.S. we still have over 25% of the people fully vaccinated now with 200 million people having received at least one vaccine so far.
However, just as a reminder it is also important to hear what Indian Doctors are saying from South Asia which is that the median age in India is 27 years old so India is a young nation in this sense. The other sobering thought is that he said that Whole families of all ages are getting infected together and going to the hospital all together in India now.
So, I suppose all families who are not vaccinated might have to prepare for this too if those variants show up here in the U.S. like they have in Switzerland by this summer or fall. And even if you are fully vaccinated you might have to consider this as well in some ways.
